Four Month Appointment

We took Cody for his four month appointment today - he is a growing boy! We talked about a few things with our pediatrician - mostly about his allergic reaction to the formula and when to try again (his suggestion was 6 months) and Camryn's nail-chewing (I'm sure I'll blog about that later, but we are at our wits-end with it!).

*Side note: I really do like our pediatrician because he is very laid back in his approach and makes me feel like anything that we decide will be right for our family - there is more than one way to do something!

Here are Cody's measurements:

Weight: 16 lbs 5 oz (75-90%)
Height: 26 1/2 inches (75-90%)
Head: 44 cm (75-90%)

And, here he is passed out after the shots :(

(Here is his sister passed out after her four month shots in March 2009 - think they look alike yet?)

Two Year & Three Month Portraits

We had Camryn and Cody's portraits made in February - and they turned out great! So great, that we ended up spending more than planned, but that's ok!

Cody was smiley and happy and Camryn listened so well and did exactly what the photographer asked her to do - so proud...

First Day of School

Cody started school today (on Valentine's Day!) and I'll just say that it was VERY hard on me. Kevin took the kids on his way to work (I don't start work until this Thursday) and it was awful. I cried as we were putting the kids in the truck and Kevin said something to the effect of - pull it together, Camryn's going to get nervous - so, I just had to go inside. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.

I am not sure why this was so much harder than when Camryn went to school for the first time. Maybe it's because I was already back to work and Kevin was home with Camryn before she started school... maybe it's because I haven't spent much time away from him until now... maybe it's because this is our last baby to take to school...maybe it's because he's the sweetest boy there ever was and now he's going to grow up way too fast. Yep, that's probably it.

A picture of my handsome husband and cute kids before leaving that day. Good thing the tears are on the other side of the camera: (and Cody is always, always looking at his sister - its really cute)

See, he's a Heartbreaker. :)

So, he was at school for about 4 hours - I went to get a haircut and run some errands. It felt very weird to go into a store without a diaper bag and stroller. I actually missed lugging that stuff around - he has been such a good little buddy to have with me the last few months.

He did great at school. Never fussed and was very interested in looking at the other babies. He is with Ms Michelle who also had Camryn when she was a baby, so that's great that we already know her (and LOVE her - she's so wonderful with babies).

Maybe we can do this!

Colored Eyes

Lately Camryn's been interested in details about everyone in our little circle of family and friends, including names, what they look like written down, and she's amused that her grandparents (and us) have other names too. She can tell you everyone's real names and she knows her full name and Cody's full name. However, she has opinions about a couple of them:

* She is convinced that Grandma's name is not Linda. It's Murray. Not sure why - she gives no explanation.

* Everytime we say "what's Granny's real name?", she replies: "Marilu. That's my name!" I guess that means it's her favorite name! :)

We also talk about eye color. A lot. Kevin and I talk about Cody's in paricular because it looks like his blue eyes are changing. To what, we're not sure - since I have green eyes and Kevin has hazel eyes. I guess we'll know soon enough. Camryn's opinion on that (which you can hear in this video) is that he will have colored eyes. Thank goodness. :)

ABC's

The last few weeks (maybe a month, time flies around here) Camryn has been singing her ABC's all the way through!

She actually did it for the camera - so here is a video (normally when we ask her to sing her ABC's for someone or the camera she whispers painfully slow and sometimes her lips move and there is no sound that comes out - but this time she did great!):
